We all know how much I love Ali Parker and this one delivers as I would hope and expect it to.  I am never disappointed by her characters and the story that they have to deliver to us.

The Book Description:

Lucas White is captain of the hockey team, and well deserving of the position. He’s hard-hitting, rough and puts up with very little. He’s kept to himself throughout his years at Providence University, but it’s time to train the next man up in line for his position. His second on the Hockey team has a twin sister that catches everyone’s eye and leaves most of the guys acting like idiots, but Lucas isn’t interested. Girls are too needy, too catty and a pain in butt. Plain and simple.

Aubrey Moore’s had her eye on the captain of the hockey team for the last few years since her brother, Jayce joined the team. He’s known for being a complete jerk, but Aubrey’s had the pleasure of seeing around the edges of his personality and wants to know him more. Now she just has to figure out how to help him breakaway from being so jaded and join her in the best adventure anyone could embark on -love.

My Review:

I love how Lucas has such a standoffish demeanor regarding women.  Aubrey is head over heels for Lucas despite what her brother really wants her do.  And the way that find each other and want to have the Happily Ever After is exactly what you want too.

I enjoy books with the dueling points of view as then I feel you actually really get to know both the characters versus just the one and the impression of one.  In this book, I was glad to see it not being rushed but yet it did not drag either.  It felt right in the time frame for it to happen and that the emotions involved would actually be realistic.

I am also a sucker for a HEA and I feel that it was here with this one.  Not a I see their paths in the next year or more type of HEA but I felt that it was a HEA that fit the characters perfectly.

And let's talk about the writing for a brief moment.  I love how developed these characters are and yet you never feel that you are just being given a bunch of facts to make you understand the situation.  I mean let's get right away that Ali Parker's characters are always amazing to me, but it is because she has a way of relating those characters to you quickly.  A lesson other authors could take in and it would make their stories that much better.

So I give this one a 5 star rating as I loved how it flowed and the characters were great.  I cannot wait to see where this series goes and hope that we get to visit with these 2 again.

I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Review: Rowdy

Rowdy Rowdy by Jay Crownover
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am officially in a series depression. I have finished Marked Men and feel like I will be lost and sad for a long time. The only thing keeping me floating in a book bliss, is the hope that the release of Charged is not that far away (one month isn't too bad right?).
Rowdy and Salem!! I liked them as a couple, believable and strong, but felt their relationship was overpowered by the memory of Poppy and Rowdy together. As the story unfolds, you get that they are really meant to be together and need to stop fighting it and each other. When the climax occurs, it is understandable and predictable. But that does not make it any less than the perfect thing for them to encounter.
Jay Crownover is by far one of my fave authors now. When stalking her on Instagram (I mean following!), I love to see that she is friends with my other favorites Jennifer Armentrout, Cora Carmack and K A Tucker. Now wonder I love them all so much - such talents attract each other's company.
Another amazing book for me to give 5 stars to. What a way to end the series!!

Review: Nash

Nash Nash by Jay Crownover
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nash and Saint rank up there with Rule and Shaw for me. There are a dynamic couple that love each other so wholeheartedly that it inspires a couple. They have there own set of problems and issues, but this couple love with an all consuming passion that you cannot help but root for them.
When they are together, they are fiery and passionate. But when they are apart, they are lost and confused and mostly, not living life like they should be.
I gave this a 5 star rating as I loved the characters. And let me not forget the writing! This author hooks you in from the beginning and keeps you right where she wants you. And you honestly do not want to be any place else.

So when mistrustful Haven Randall lands on the club’s doorstep scared that she’s being hunted, Dare takes her in, swears to keep her safe, and pushes to learn the secrets overshadowing her pretty smile.
Haven fled from years of abuse at the hands of her criminal father and is suspicious of any man’s promises, including those of the darkly sexy and overwhelmingly intense Ravens’ leader.  My Review:  Dare and Haven are made for each other.  Excellent story and characters.  They both have their own issues and backstories that make them very interesting.  I am attracted recently by the biker gang storylines as they are always full of suspense and romance and just amazing characters it seems.  And this one was no different.  I cannot wait to get my hands on other Laura Kaye books as her writing is wonderful as well.  Love the book!  Great love story.  A 4 star romance!

Review: The Blood of the Hydra

The Blood of the Hydra The Blood of the Hydra by Michelle Madow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story and these characters have only gotten better with this next installment.
A fast paced read for sure.
A lot of action and a lot of drama.
Nicole has gotten more tolerable for me and I actually enjoyed her in this one. The romance was definitely better in this one as well which just makes me want to read on and on.
I feel strongly that this only get better with the next book as well as it seems to be a story that over time will be a great one!

Review: Evermore

Evermore Evermore by Alyson Noel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A 3-1/2 star book for me. I enjoyed the story although truly predictable it was. I enjoyed Ever as she was a strong female lead but felt that Damen was a bit lacking in his character. I will continue on in this series hoping for more development on him and his background

Review: Redemption Road

Redemption Road Redemption Road by Katie Ashley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed the complexity the characters had in this book. It broached a subject most would shy away from and handled it with the gentleness and care that it deserved. I was very impressed by it. I liked how the characters didn't rush into a romantic physical relationship as many stories do. It was slow as one would expect in such a case as this. I also enjoyed the writing

Review: Deep

Deep Deep by Kylie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am sad to let go of this quartet of couples honestly. I always liked Lizzie but Ben was an odd duck to me. But with her, he fits and makes it all perfect. Their relationship is anything but stable.

Review: Lead

Lead Lead by Kylie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As this series continues, I fall deeper in love with these characters. Jimmy and Lena! Love them. Wish I had given more thought to Lena before, but now she is just amazing. So full of love and strength. And Jimmy I thought was just a big jerk until this one.
Another 4 star book. Love this author

Review: Run to You

Run to You Run to You by Rachel Gibson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a hard one to get into honestly at first. I listened to this and the voice was annoying as the males so it made it difficult to listen to.

The story was predictable and I really wanted a bit more on the Sadie/Stella relationship that was the center of the way the 2 MC got together.

All in all a simple quick listen - 3 star rating

Review: Play

Play Play by Kylie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mal is truly my fave character in this series. He pulls you in from the start and just makes you want to get to know him.

And he and Anne are amazing together because they give each other what they need. And I would love to see where their continued story goes.

I love their chemistry and the hot/cold dynamic of their relationship.

A true 4 star book for me. Can't wait to start #3

Review: Wildflower

Wildflower Wildflower by Drew Barrymore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I would truly give this one a 3-1/2 star rating.

I liked that it was not a true memoir - just a long narrative that might be difficult to get through at times. I liked that it was a collection of short stories that she tells that are not in chronological order either. It made it feel more like she was just talking to you personally relating a funny anecdote.

Drew Barrymore has always held a special interest for me as she is so talented and has gone from being a child star to be a multiple faceted adult star. I marvel at all she has accomplished in such a short time. She is a true treasure.

Review: Lick

Lick Lick by Kylie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked the premise of this story. A drunken night that ends up in a marriage. A major rock star and little nobody. It just has such promise to the story. And it totally lives up to it. I loved the characters and their issues. And their relationship is one to desire in life - all consuming need to be with the other person! I love the writing as well.
