About TO THE STARS: In the second standalone book in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Molly McAdams’ Thatch series, Knox Alexander must convince his long-time love Harlow Evans that they’re meant to be together. He promised to wait for her. She told him he was wasting his time. Not waiting for him ended up being the biggest mistake of her life. When they were younger, Knox Alexander swore to Harlow Evans that he would wait for her to turn eighteen so they could be together. But that was two and a half years away, and Harlow couldn’t ask him to give up all the fun and thrills of going away to college for her. As the years passed, Knox remained a constant in her life but when her eighteenth birthday came around, Harlow’s heart belonged to someone else. Every day for the last four years, Harlow has been haunted by that fateful choice. And though he may appear unaffected by what happened in their past, Knox has always tried to fill the void Harlow left. But when he comes stumbling back into her life and refuses to leave, will Harlow finally let him into her heart…?
“Happy birthday, Low. I waited for you.”
The instant his voice filtered through the phone, my body stilled and warmed at the same time. My breath came out in a soft, audible huff, and my eyes shut as hundreds of welcome memories flooded my mind.
I didn’t have to look at the screen to know who was calling. I would know that voice anywhere, and I should have been expecting his call. Not just his call. This call. We’d been preparing for and talking about this call for two and a half years now.
My lips and fingers trembled, and I almost dropped the phone as I tried to make my throat work.
“I waited for you”, played over and over again like a broken record. A broken record with the most beautiful music still coming from it.
Turning my head just enough to look over my shoulder, I eyed the guy shrugging into his shirt, and my chest ached when I faced forward again.
No longer seeing the dorm room I was standing in, I let our memories consume me. “I—” I took in a shaky breath, and my voice came out as a strained whisper. “I didn’t wait for you.”
This book is not for the faint of heart. And I cannot imagine the emotional rollercoaster that this would have taken to write! The ride it takes the reader on is incredible and one that left me crying and smiling and overwhelmed emotionally.
Knox loves Harlow from the moment he sees her and there is no denying that one. Harlow is a skeptical young girl who is worried about everything in life it seems. Together they make sense even when everyone tells them otherwise.
The subject of abuse is not an easy one to think about. I can imagine many will be put off by it, but PLEASE read this one. It handles it with the graphicness it needs yet the tenderness you would expect from Molly McAdams. As a huge fan, I am always impressed in how this author creates characters that you come to truly love.
And allow me to fangirl here!! I was gifted this ARC by her publisher. Are you kidding?!?! What a true honor for me. I am incredibly lucky to say the least!
I give this one a 5 out of 5 because I put off sleep to complete this book. And sorry my little e-reader for draining that battery, but I could not leave off and not finish into the early hours of morning. I couldn't!
And don’t miss the first book in the Thatch Series…

About Molly McAdams: Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. When she's not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and fried pickles, and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm ... or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.
