Twisted Up In You by Dawn Martens
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I honestly am wrestling with this review. This book dealt with a lot of topics that separately could have created multiple books, but instead it was hastely thrown together as a mashed up roller coaster of emotions. Cori and Blake seem to be a good fit and a perfect "he loves her - she loves him- the stars aren't alining- now they are" kind of story. But then you need to throw in the messed up childhoods they both had, the horrid foster home, the using sex as a weapon or crutch by all involved, and the a rushed story line at times but also making it move frustratingly slow at others, and more. It seems like the author wanted to cram as much into the story as she could whether it truly enhanced the storyline or not. Sometimes the troubled lead does not have to have every tragic thing happen to her!! I think that these are good characters but they just seem to be overly tragic. A two and a half star book as it is not a really bad story just a jumbled mess.
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
