OBLIVION!!!!

Oblivion (Lux, #1.5)

Experience the epic love story of OBSIDIAN as told by its hero, Daemon Black…

I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door, there was going to be trouble. Lots of it.

And trouble’s the last thing I need, since I’m not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet thirteen billion light years away. Plus, if there’s one thing I know, it’s that humans can’t be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. ‘Cuz they are.

But Kat is getting to me in ways no one else has, and I can't stop myself from wanting her—or wanting to use my powers to protect her. She makes me weak, and I’m the strongest of our kind, tasked with protecting us all. So this one simple girl…she can mean the end for us. Because the Luxen have an even bigger enemy—the Arum, and I need to stay on my game.

Falling for Katy—a human—won't just place her in danger. It could get us all killed, and that’s one thing I’ll never let happen...

MY REVIEW:

Ok, to say I was waiting for this story patiently is a vast understatement.

I mean, come on, who does not love a good alien story with love and this much attraction and hotness in it?
And now you are adding on his point of view, not just hers?  Are you kidding me??

Now, obviously I read the original series and so I know what happened in the story.  But seriously, to hear it from Daemon's viewpoint makes me so very happy.  One always wondered how one sided it could have been from the get go.  Yes, you find out details later down the way, but still.  Now you get to live in Daemon's head for a bit.  And how yummy is that head, I swear!  The words that come out of his mouth or run around in his head are amazing and something everyone wants to hear.
I felt that it was well written and directly what one would hope for switching points of view.  There are not any glaring issues at all.  I love this book.  Have I mentioned that before?
A true 5 star book as it had me reading during my kids swim lessons, while awaiting them to come out of the school, while eating, and yes while walking to my car even!
I am now reading the other 2 Daemon versions that were released in the digital format.  Honestly, I cannot get enough of this book.

Thank you @JLArmentrout for this awesome present!!!

  1. I was really curious about this one - I'm never sure about books from the other person's perspective. I've yet to read one.
