Review: Deeper

Deeper by Robin York

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a story!! I am sitting here thinking of how to describe such a book and it's depth makes my words inadequate. The subject matter of nonconsenual release of pictures of a pornographic nature to the internet is enough for one to have a long list of issues with and questions about. But, then throw the complex relationship between Caroline and West on top of that, and you have a myriad of problems without any true forseeable solutions.
West loves Caroline before he can even admit it to himself. And Caroline knows that the only person to actually care for her, is West. Yes, they have a cast of friends that are there for them in a pinch, but it really comes down to them needing each other. And wanting - the wanting of each other is a HUGE part of the story. Their love is pretty remarkable and intoxicating.
I am upset though, as I am a fan of Happily Ever Afters. And there is not one here that will make me happy at all. And from what I read of the next book in the excerpt at the end of this one, I am doubting I will find one soon. I am though very intrigued for the next and already have placed a hold on it at the library as they are currently closed.
I gave this a 4 star rating. Perhaps it is more of a 4-1/2 star rating but that HEA or lack there of weighs heavily on me.
