Review: Waves of Reckoning

Waves of Reckoning
Waves of Reckoning by Terri Marie

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ok, I was thinking this book was wrapping up this series. Wrong!!! Oh my goodness another plot twist and another big cliffhanger. I have to admit that having the characters find their love interests so easily is a bit hokey - I mean, in my opinion, it seems a bit cliche at times. But the drama that is surrounding the family (blood and not) is intriguing. And that intrigue totally outweighs the cliche love story. I will somewhat patiently await the next book.

Review: Through the Storm

Through the Storm
Through the Storm by Terri Marie

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really liked that this book picked up directly where book one left off. I loved the development of the characters. I felt thoroyghly connected with them and what they went through. And another cliffhanger to kill my afternoon activities? I need to continue with this until I get everyone to the conclusions they were meant to have. Excellent!

Review: Make it Rain

Make it Rain
Make it Rain by Terri Marie

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I wish I could give this one 4.5 stars. I was irritated by the many typos in this story. But otherwise it gripped my attention fully from the beginning. I truly felt for the characters and the hardships they have had to go through. I loved the attraction between the main characters. But the suspense made me drain all the battery on my tablet so I could finish. Can't wait to start #2.

Review: Carnival

Carnival
Carnival by K.B. Nelson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I truly enjoyed many aspects of this story. I was less than thrilled with the involvement of drugs but then again without it in the story, I suppose there would be no true story. I am a sucker for a hooked in from the first meeting love story. A few things were not as believable though for me as why would the mom nor dad be present at all. I get that she truly is an adult but not even a fleeting how are you seemed to be a bit off. Especially if you are still living with them. I perhaps am a bit of a more controlling mom. Overall though this book really hooked me in and I stayed up late to finish it.

Review: The Possibility of Us

The Possibility of Us
The Possibility of Us by Lisa Burstein

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This book was well just ok. I might have liked it better had I known it was part of a series - one where this book is a sequel. Perhaps I would have known the history / backstory of the main characters a bit. Maybe then I would have liked the main characters. Instead, I found Cassie to be a person I would never associate with ever. And it admittedly clouded my thoughts for this book for the rest of it.

Review: Sweet Evil

Sweet Evil
Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Ok so I wanted to like this book so much more than I did. Icould not connect with the characters at all. The whole Nephilim / Demon / Human thing has been done before and honestly a lot better. Perhaps not as much in the Teen / Young Adult genre but it is getting to where there are more paranormal fiction done than not. I honestly just was bored with the conflicts they had and felt I have read better. It was pretty simple (which can be refreshing and fun too!) and at times boring. I have no plans to continue on with the series - something I never like to do!

Review: Last Chance Knit & Stitch

Last Chance Knit & Stitch
Last Chance Knit & Stitch by Hope Ramsay

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a very quick read for me - only a couple of hours. A nice break away on a hot summer day. I admit some of it would get confusing because there were so many characters named and to keep track of them, I found myself backtracking for some time. I also like that it did not try to be a knitting instruction book too. Some books try to infer how to truly knit in the storytline and it makes no sense. I enjoyed the chemistry between molly and Simon and would not have minded if there was a bit more discussion on it. I also enjoyed Molly's family dynamics as well as Simon's. I know that situation well and thought it was handled very well. I would recommend one read this if you are looking for a sweet, romantic book.

Review: A Shade of Vampire

A Shade of Vampire
A Shade of Vampire by Bella Forrest

My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I literally read this "book" in a matter of an hour and a half. It was tauted on facebook and Amazon as a better read than Twilight. I have to say that I strongly disagree. It held no interest to me after I finished it. As I know it is a series and that usually intrigues me even more, I found that I did not rush to want to purchase the second book. Nor do I feel any desire to read any continuation. The connection between the main characters was interesting but it was not swoon worthy. There was heat but nothing remarkable. And from the way this book was hyped, one would think that it was. I also felt that you received truly not enough back story on either character. Little tidbits? Yes. But not enough to warrant any connection for me. Sadly I felt this was a silly vampire story with no true appeal for me.
