A friend of mine has a book blog as well. She had a giveaway on there for some of the books she had read recently and I won. (So excited because I rarely win anything except a cold - yep I am always the one that wins in that race!) So I was sent the book above and decided to read it quickly. I was in between books so it worked out well. Also, I mean who doesn't like to get mail that isn't a bill, right? So I was excited.
The Book Description: To nineteen-year-old high school dropout Travis Walker, women are like snowflakes--each one different, but beautiful in her own way.
He can charm any girl he meets, and yet down deep he fears he'll always be a loser like his jailbird father. As the landlady threatens to evict him and his sick mother, Travis takes a job he hates and spends his evenings picking up girls at a nearby night spot.
When he enlists in a teen program at the local fire station, he finds out he’s amazing at it. Then he meets the smoking hot Kat Summers, enlists Kat’s friend Zoey to help him woo her, and falls in love for the first time ever.
But he keeps the details of his life secret. His girl will never love him back if she knows the truth about him.
My Review: I gave this one, a 4 star review on Goodreads when I read it. I truly liked this story. I adore books lately written in a male POV. And this one did not disappoint. I was impressed by what he would do for his family above all and lengths he would go to to help out. Ok, and I am a total sucker for a story with a firefighter aspect. And I truly liked how the love story evolved. It was realistic and not totally unthinkable. I admit that I did tear up a bit in the last bit of the book - I am telling you it is that good. So if you come across this book, I would definitely pick it up and share it!
So thank you my friend for sending this book into my hands. I truly enjoyed it!
